Wet January

It hasnt been the dry start to the year that I had hoped for to be honest. I would of loved a dry crisp cold frosty January but we get what we get and we make the most of it.

Thats exactly what I intend to do this year. With the hand that I am delt off I go into the woods to find those wonderful woodland compositions but most of all to enjoy being out in nature.

We dont spend enough time just being. We are always doing something, photographing or walking or biking. whatever we are up to in the forest we need to take time even if only a few moments to stop and just listen and watch. Listen to the breeze or listen to the bird call. Watch the branches sway at the tops of the tall douglas firs or notice the squirells as they courageously jump from tree to tree. Fallow deer darting through the forest with elegance and silience.

We forget that the simple things really do make us more relaxed and happy. I understand we all lead busy stressful lives but we must make time to adjust unwind and just chill when we can, even if thats ten minutes here and five minutes there.

Whats coming up this year for me so far?

The picture house gallery Cinderford

I have an exciting start to the year in 2025 as I will be having and exhibition at The Picture house Gallery in Cinderford where you will be able to come down and have a look at some actual prints. Yep you heard real prints and not something on social media. I think it really is important to print your work and see it on photographic paper. For me its the final stage of the photographic journey.

The picture house gallery is a wonderful independant gallery run by Karen Lougher. Not only will you see my photographs and cards there but you can also discover an amazing variety of artists and crafts people there too.

Im hoping to have my exhibition there in February after Karen has completed some repairs and decorating. Super excited about it so watch this space for updates.

The crafty Foxes Den

The crafty Foxes Den is a new shop managed and owned by Claire Smith is now open in Bream Forest of Dean where as like The picture house gallery you will find crafts and arts with a bit of a twist at the back of the shop will be a new Tattoo Shop "Black Opal Inks Tattoo Studio" with Claires amazing daughter as the tattooist .

Im am very excited to be displaying and selling my photographs in The Crafty Foxes Den shop so please go down and pop in to have a look around.
