Its all to easy to think that there is an amazing picture and composition behind every tree but in fact it takes time and patients to search find and explore. When potential areas are found then revisits are required to capture those compositions under the corect condition whatever that may be. It could be early morning sun or fog and mist. Its could be snow or rain or windy conditions. The right combination doesnt happen everyday so time is our freind. Not forgeting different seasons too. Beech trees in spring or autumn with their wonderful coloured leaves or larch as the needles turn to a burning orange.
The wonderful thing about all of these factors is that it means spending a good amount of time out in nature. So many moments watching and listening to the wild world and noticing the changing of the seasons can only be benificial to our health and well being.

I have started to make a point of stopping and listening and noticing when I am out with my camera and this way I build up not only a portfolio of moments from the woods but that conection too. Remembering the sound of the thrush singing away at the top of the tree or the tops of the trees gently rustling in the breeze. This all makes the experience complete and makes our profolio a complete one. Not just of pictures but of experience and connection to nature.
